Why don't symbol previews show?

When I click on the symbol database folder and go into a folder there is just a list of pink boxes with the symbol names, how do I show the symbol graphics?

If you right-click in space to the right of the symbols and use the pop-up menu to change the icon size from 16x16 to either of the larger options (28x28 or 32x32) you will see the symbol graphics appear in the folders again. This size option changes the way the folders work and only shows previews when a symbol is click on in the folder list.
