Why don't wire numbers appear on the drawing ?

I've assigned wire numbers using the 'Wire Properties' dialogue but they don't appear on the page, why?

This is most commonly experienced when the project template selected has been set to use 'Signal types for wires' and the display properties have been left off. If this has happened in the 'Basic' or 'Free' versions then you will need to copy the pages to a new project that was not created with the workspace template 'EN Standard-Solidworks'.
In 'Standard' and 'Advanced' versions use the 'Circuit Diagram > Properties > Wires > Signal type setup' command to enable the display of 'Show potential name'.
