How to activate or deactivate the round menu

▸On SEE Electrical Expert you have the option to choose between two context menu modes.

Round menu: a new addition to the V5R1 update, which display the context commands radially, to minimise the space used by the classic mode.

Classic menu: traditional mode which displays the contextual commands as a standard list.

▸To choose which mode to use, first you have to open the software’s configurator, then click on the ‘Editor Appearance’ settings and in the ‘Context menu mode’ select thedes mode.

▸You can change  the mode of the context menu anytime you want.

Adding symbols from the web catalog

▸The ‘SEE web catalogue’ is a subscription service which grant you access to an online catalog that offers more than 900,000 references provided by more than 900 manufacturers, With more than 20,000 specific equipment symbols.

▸Most equipment records provide detailed technical information including dimensions, schematic symbol references and a growing number of 3D symbols.

▸To download symbols from the web catalogue, first you have to choose a country for it. To do so, open the software’s configurator, then expand the ‘Web’ category and click on ‘Internet catalog’.

▸Then in the ‘SEE Web catalog’ field select the desired country.

▸To open the web catalogue from the software , go to the ‘Environment’ menu and open ‘Equipment Catalogue’.

▸Once the equipment catalogue opens, right click on a class and from the context menu select ‘Open Web Catalogue’.

▸In the ‘Search’ field, you can enter the reference of the equipment that you want to add, to make the search more precise you can click on the ‘Search tools’ button to apply filters which makes finding the equipment much easier.

▸When you find the desired equipment , check its box and click on the ‘Add To Cart’ button.

▸After adding all the equipments to the cart, click on cart icon.

▸In the cart you can see all the added equipments, to download them all click on the ‘Download’ button.

▸Then the downloaded references will be added to your equipment catalog.

Align signals numbers on axis

▸To align signals numbers on an axis, go ‘Edit’ / ‘Move’  /  ‘Signal Number on Axis’.

▸Then, select the two points of the axis on which you want to align your signal numbers.

▸the signal numbers will then be aligned where the axis intersects with the signal wires.

▸For quick access to the command you can assign a shortcut for it.

▸To do so , go to ‘Options’  / ‘Customize’.

▸On the ‘Keyboard’ tab , choose the category ‘Edit’ and select the ‘Signal Number on Axis’  command from the ‘Commands’ list.

▸In the ‘New shortcut’ field, type the key(s) you want to associate with the command and click ‘Assign’.

▸Finally, in the list ‘ Shortcuts Currently Assigned ‘ check the shortcut to use and click ‘OK’.

Assign / modify the function of symbols

▸Assigning a function allows you to define the symbol’s role in a project, you can also display the function on the diagram.

▸To assign or modify the function of one or more symbols, go to ‘Process’ / ‘Assign’ / ‘Function’.

▸You can choose which symbols to display using the filters ‘Folio’ and ‘Function’.

▸In the ‘Function to assign’ field, type the desired function, or choose an existing one from the ‘…’ button.

▸In the case of a single symbol, double-click on it to change its function.

▸In the case of several symbols, select them and click on ‘Apply’

Assign location to symbols

▸To define a geographical position (a cabinet for example) to a set of symbols in your project, we have to associate a location for the equipments/wires in the diagram.

▸To do so, in the ‘Process’ menu place the cursor on top of the ‘Assign’ option and select ‘Location and Equipment Code’.

▸The ‘Location Equipment Code’ window opens, you can apply filters using ‘Extension, Location and Equipment Code’ menus to make the search more precise.

▸From search results select the equipment that you want to assign the location to, then click on the ‘Location’ button.

▸Then the ‘Location Explorer’ window opens, from the locations list double click on the desired one.

▸The ‘Location Explorer’ closes and you will be redirected to the previous window, click on ‘OK’ to assign the location and on close the window.

▸After closing the ‘Location Equipment Code’ the selected location will be applied.

 

Register an internet license

▸To use this type of licence, the computer where the license will be registered should have internet access, the user should also have his Id and password which are both mentioned in the document sent by the delivery service.

▸First open the configurator of the software from the windows start menu, then expand the ‘Security’ category and select ‘Protection settings’.

▸In the ‘Protection Type’ field select ‘Software key’ from the drop-down menu.

▸Next you have to choose the commercial package of your license, in the ‘Advanced protection’ settings, you can select the proper bundle from the drop down menu in the ‘Profile’ field.

▸Then in the ‘Protection’ settings, enter your serial number and password as provided to you in your certificate. The serial number contains 8 digital characters.

▸To test the connection of your license to the internet protection system, run a connection test.

▸A pop up message will show the result of the test, if the registration is successful you can proceed with the activation.

▸Next, to activate the modules,  click on the ‘Manage Modules’ button.

▸Then, the ‘Manage Modules’ window opens. From the list , you can select the modules that you want to activate and click on the ‘Take’ button, to activate all the available modules in one step click on the ‘Take All Available’ button.

▸In the ‘Manage Modules’ window you can also deactivate the modules  by selecting them and clicking on the ‘Release’ button.
