Omexom C&S at the forefront of electrical energy storage.

Discover how ALPI assisted Omexom in the development of its business operations through the use of Caneco HT and Caneco BT software.


Since its creation in 2013 as part of the Barillec company (Vinci Group), Omexom Conversion & Storage is specialized in the design and construction of energy storage systems, primarily based on renewable energy. With a turnover of 15 million euros, the company provides turnkey projects to its customers all over the world, from French Guiana to Reunion Island, including Africa, as well as mainland France.

With the growth of renewable energies, Omexom C&S customers have noticed an increase in the need for system services to adapt and ensure energy storage without limiting electricity production. The Omexom C&S solution provides them with more adaptability to changing weather conditions while reducing their costs. “Omexom C&S allows the various producers to benefit from a balanced and regulated network”, explains Thibault Fauquant, General Manager at Omexom Conversion & Storage.

ALPI and Omexom associated with their expertise

It is within this context that Omexom C&S approached ALPI: seeking to acquire complementary tools, Omexom C&S opted for Caneco BT, ALPI’s software for automated design of low voltage electrical installations. As a single solution, it integrates the various jobs of the electrician: calculations and sizing of circuits, electrical power diagrams, cabinet layout and costing of materials.

Omexom C&S were immediately convinced by the ease of use of Caneco BT, which makes it possible to identify and select electrical equipment more easily through the multi-manufacturer database, as well as the high-quality of the deliverables. The ease of use of Caneco BT has proven to be a significant advantage, especially considering Omexom C&S were also able to benefit from highly specialized training.

With the assistance of ALPI, Omexom C&S was able to focus on the core business, as it was the case with Total Solar International. Together with Saft, Omexom C&S has completed a turnkey contract for a 25MW/25MWh storage system: the most powerful electrical energy storage system in France, with batteries to safeguard the electricity supply, regulate the network frequency and prevent the intermittent energy production associated with renewable energy.

Training and support based on Omexom’s requirements

After a positive experience using Caneco BT, Omexom C&S decided to complete their range of tools with the Caneco HT software application, which enables the design and verification of private medium and high voltage electrical installations in compliance with applicable standards. They also chose customized training to address challenging subjects such as inverter processing.

Achieved Benefits

ALPI’s various solutions offer Omexom C&S real time savings through streamlined data entry, reducing the risk of errors, and through automated creation of documentation. The deliverables generated enable us to prove our compliance with the NF C15-100 and NF C13-200 standards to both customers and control authorities. By accessing a multi-manufacturer database, unique on the market and resulting from partnerships established over the past 35 years, users can make savings on the choice of equipment.

Finally, Omexom C&S considers ALPI as a valuable partner for the future, due to the IGE+XAO software application they have recently acquired, providing a gateway to SEE Electrical. “This is one of the key advantages of Caneco BT and Caneco HT, and we are particularly interested in this kind of development from ALPI”, concludes Sédrick Djanko.
